ETHAN AMPADU cursed his luck on Tuesday as he was sent off for a perfectly clean tackle.
The 21-year-old Chelsea defender is loaned to Italian side Venezia for the season.
And Ampadu made his fourth Serie A appearance in Tuesday’s 2-1 home loss to Franck Ribery’s Salernitana, coming in as a replacement in the 60th minute.
The score was tied at 1-1 going into the final 25 minutes when Ribery jumped on a loose ball outside the Venezia penalty area.
Alert to the situation, Ampadu leapt forward with a manual tackle to stamp out the danger.
However, the referee saw the opposite as Ribery rolled on the floor.
He immediately stopped play and ran towards Ampadu before waving a red card.
The Welsh international and his teammates were dismayed by the decision.
