Everton need to show Jonjoe Kenny the backdoor this summer as he is simply not good enough to play for the club.
Frank Lampard backed the Liverpool-born defender when he arrived at the club, but as with every other manager he has increasingly fallen out of favor under the new boss.
The right-back has been part of Finch Farm’s senior setup since 2017 without making any noticeable impact with a number of unsuccessful loan spells doing very little to launch his Toffees career.
As the former Chelsea boss looks to reshape the mess of a Blues squad this summer, the 25-year-old is set to be one of many players eliminated.
It looks like Farhad Moshiri and Everton are just buying players for fun. They signed Scottish starlet Nathan Patterson away from Rangers in January for a whopping £12million.
Understandably, he might not have been ready to be thrown into the deep end with the relegation-stricken Blues when he first joined the club, but he and everyone else would have expected the youngster play more.
Kenny being in the squad has left the Scotland international by the waistline, it’s far too easy to support Kenny.
Take Vitaliy Mykolenko for example, being the team’s only left-back has seen the Ukrainian play a lot more than Patterson and the 22-year-old has improved so much as a result, but even Kenny has been moved to the left at times.
Not only does Kenny block the door for another right-sided defender to join the club, but he massively hampers new players who have already entered.
In other Everton news, the Blues are to sack several senior players in the summer for ‘hungrier’ alternatives according to Chris Beesley.
