Napoli consider move for Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas as they seek “Low cost solutions” to a problem in this position.
La Gazzetta Dello Sport explains that Napoli need a left-back this summer because the position has had ‘some sort of curse’ for several years.
Since Faouzi Ghoulam suffered his first serious right knee injury in November 2017, Napoli have not been able to get anything to work in the position or on that side of the pitch.
They had hoped Ghoulam could recover, but that seems unlikely, and now the screening department is looking for long-term replacements.

They have already identified several players that could work, but the market is complicated because Aurelio de Laurentiis has decided to block incoming transactions if there aren’t any first in the other direction.
They are therefore considering loan deals, which led them to Liverpool defender Tsimikas.
They chased him ahead of his € 13million move to Anfield and continued to watch him as he failed to establish himself under Jurgen Klopp, with just seven appearances and five minutes in the Premier League.
he is “never convinced” Klopp, and we feel at this point a loan “Could be a solution that everyone would like”.
It would work for Napoli as they would get a low cost fix and another Greek Kostas to go with Kostas Manolas, while Liverpool could allow Tsimikas to develop and reassess himself outside the club.
There is no mention of talks or movement so far, but that could certainly change, and with Napoli’s “sensational shots” unlikely this summer, he’s an attractive option.
