Choice of British Masters and Wells Fargo championships

This week’s expert golf betting tips, ranging from 22/1 to 80/1, cover the British Masters and the Wells Fargo Championship

JBelfry hosts the Betfred British Masters on the DP World Tour for the second consecutive season with tournament host Danny Willett and Lee Westwood among the star attractions.

Scotsman Robert MacIntyre and Polish powerhouse Adrian Meronk came into the event leading the bets – both at 22/1 with bet365 – followed by Sam Horsfield and Jordan Smith at 28/1.

The PGA Tour season continues with the Wells Fargo Championship moving from Quail Hollow to TPC Potomac, Maryland as the former prepares to host the Presidents Cup in September.

Rory McIlroy won the Wells Fargo title for the third time last year, but the Northern Irishman will meet a different test at Potomac – a much shorter course that puts less emphasis on its driver. He is a 17/2 favorite with Corey Conners following at 20/1.

MacIntyre can thrive in calmer waters

Robert MacIntyre has been making waves in the United States and there’s every chance the Scotsman could challenge for the British Masters title as he returns to calmer waters on the DP World Tour.

Entering early on day one, MacIntyre finished 15th at the Genesis Invitational, 35th at the Texas Open and 23rd at the Masters in his last start. He finished eighth at the Belfry in this event last season.

Danish starlet hard to ignore

The Hojgaard twins have taken the DP World Tour by storm over the past two seasons and Ramsus looks set to put in a big performance on a course he knows well.

Another who came out early in the first round on Thursday, the 21-year-old Dane is already a Belfry winner, winning the only British championship on the course in 2020. Two rounds in Spain were disappointing for this huge talent but he has everything chance to get back in shape this week.

Fantastic Fox in a confident mood

Kiwi slugger Ryan Fox won the Ras Al Khaimah Classic before taking two months off to return to New Zealand, but returned to action in Spain, finishing 15th in the ISPS Handa Championship and ninth in the Catalunya Championship.

He was 28th on his debut at the Belfry in the UK Championship, suggesting another big week could be in store.

Point: Ryan Fox to win outright @ 35/1 with bet365

Fitzpatrick can smash the American duck

Matthew Fitzpatrick missed the cut on his last PGA Tour start at RBC Heritage, but that aberration came after months of strong performances in the United States and the Englishman is set to bounce back at TPC Potomac, a course well suited to his gameplay style.

The Sheffield man has produced five finishes of 14th or better in seven strokeplay starts in the United States this season and although success in the United States has proven elusive, seven DP World Tour wins demonstrate he knows how to win when he has the chance.

Point: Matthew Fitzpatrick to win outright @ 22/1 with bet365

Bradley makes a striking impression

TPC Potomac has hosted two editions of Quicken Loans National, so some in the field this week will be more familiar with this layout than others. One of them is Keegan Bradley, who finished fifth in the 2017 Quicken Loans event.

This high-quality ball forward impressed this year, finishing 11th at the Arnold Palmer and fifth at The Players on the wrong end of the draw. He was eighth in his previous individual start and fourth alongside Brendan Steele in the Zurich Classic in the last action.

Point: Keegan Bradley to win outright @ 33/1 with bet365

Indian ace in excellent shape

At greater odds, a chance can be taken on Anirban Lahiri, who continues to strike the ball well after coming from nowhere to finish second in the Players Championship.

The Indian finished 13th at the Texas Open and 15th at the Mexico Open last week, while a previous trip to TPC Potomac resulted in a 13th place finish at the 2018 Quicken Loans.

Point: Anirban Lahiri to win outright @ 80/1 with bet365
