CELTIC forward Albian Ajeti and Rangers star on loan Cedric Itten have been recalled in shock to the Swiss national team.
Ajeti has been a polarizing figure among Parkhead’s backing as he deputized for injured Kyogo Furuhashi in recent weeks.
He scored three goals during that spell – only to rush back to the sidelines when Kyogo was available again.
Itten was loaned to Bundesliga club Greuther Furth after a disappointing first season at Ibrox, where he scored against Bayern.
But one man who has been impressed is Switzerland’s boss Murat Yakin.
The national team boss has recalled Ajeti for the first time since September 2020 for the matches against Northern Ireland and Lithuania.

And he believes the duo are more than worthy of summons from a Swiss team who have drawn zero in their last two matches.
Yakin said: “Ajeti and Itten have a more recent history with the team.
“They know the players who make up the frame.
“But it’s a good thing to have more choice in the attacking area.
“Ajeti and Itten have shown they can score.”
