Aston Villa have confirmed they have agreed a season-long loan deal with Sevilla for left-back Ludwig Augustinsson.

The Sweden international has agreed to the move to Villa Park with a view to making the move permanent. According to The Athletic, Aston Villa will pay a loan fee of £500,000.

Augustinsson, 28, became Villa’s fifth signing this summer and there are still more than seven weeks left in the summer transfer window.

He will have no shortage of friends when he arrives at Villa Park following the club’s recent acquisitions of former Sevilla team-mate Diego Carlos and compatriot Robin Olsen.

Villa have also agreed deals for highly rated free agent Boubacar Kamara and the permanent transfer of Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona.

Augustinsson, will get his first taste of English football next month when the Premier League return, but for now the Swede has started the process of getting a work permit ahead of his move to the Midlands.
